1.Be committed. Be committed to the team. Be committed to showing up at all scheduled practices and games. Do your best every practice and every game. Be committed to improving as a soccer player. Be committed to learning the game.
2. Be coachable. You are here to develop into the best player you can be. Please take constructive criticism and listen to the coaches feedback.
3. Be a good teammate. Support one another. Learn each other’s strength and weaknesses on the field. Learn how to function as a team unit. Be positive and encouraging. Push each other to be better soccer players at practice and games. Communicate one another. Get to know each other and have fun together. Respect each other. Show team pride and take part in team activities.
4. Communicate with your coach. Communicate any foreseen absences and concerns. Communicate any injuries or illnesses. This is key.
5. Practice Hard, Play Intense. Don’t be luke warm. Practice like you want to play. Play like you want to win. Compete in every game. Play with some heart. Play with Passion.
6. Learn the game. Learn your position. Learn better technique and practice it. Learn field awareness, tactics, and set pieces.
7. Respect your coach. You may not agree with every line up or might not like every drill. Do not bad mouth the coach. They are there because they love the game and want to help you be successful at at. Don't be short sighted. The coach is preparing for the big picture as you may be seeing just a little snip it. Bad mouthing the coach to others is not productive and will be addressed with that player. Being able to coach this team is a pretty cool job and we spend a lot of time and energy trying to do a great job at it.
